Loch Dubh

Taken at Tarbet near Scourie, north west of Scotland, there is a ferry at tarbet that takes you over to Handa Island, a bird sanctury, and this little loch is by the roadside near there.

Strathy Point

Taken from the rocks behind the lighthouse, this is a fabulous place to see sea birds and sea life, if you go round to the point there is a chance of seeing porpoises, whales, dolphins and numerous seabirds.

Old Man of Stoer

This is the old man of Stoer,a sea stack in the north west Highlands of scotland, you can get to it via a footpath from Stoer lighthouse, or as wee did follow a rough path from Stoer bay along the cliff tops, where you see the most beautiful scenery and seabirds. When we arrived a group of lads had just climbed it, you can still see the ropes attached.

Glenfinnan Viaduct on a cold frosty morning. Had to wait forages for the sun to hit the viaduct, but it was worth the wait.

Early morning mist on Loch Droma

This photo was taken early one morning over Loch Droma which is situated beside the ullapool road. The mist was just starting to lift and just as we took the photo, a couple of black throated divers flew onto the loch on their long journey to the west coast. In the distance hidden by the mist is An Teallach a beautiful mountain, and quite a challange for hillwalkers although very popular.

Loch Awe

Taken onthe first day of our holidays in 2009, we were driving towards Lochinver and decided to stop beside Loch Awe for a cuppa. It had just stoped raining and everything looked so fresh and with the light on Canisp in the background, a photo was called for.

Stac Polliadh

This is Stac Polliadh taken from the shores of loch Lurgainn. This Iconic little mountain gets climbed by hoards of visitors every year, so much so that there have been paths laid on it as the mountain is erroding through the sheer volume of feet pounding their way up. Loch Lurgainn is a lovely loch to fish, you can hire a boat from Inverpolly Estate office and spend a glorious day on the Loch or get a permit from the same place and fish from the banks.

Natural Arch

This is one of my  favourite places, it is the natural arch in Culkein Bay,Sutherland, north west highlands, we go here on holidays every year and never tire of the scenery, it is second to none. we often fish from the rocks, and have caught Pollock and Mackeral in the past, We often see the sealsplaying in the sea from here, and there are lots of sea birds to be seen, like Cormorants, and gannets diving into the sea for fish, and Great skuas are all common sights, and the whole area is so paceful.
