Welcome to the Scottish Highlands through my eyes

The Scottish Highlands has some of the most beautiful scenic landscape, and i would like to share this with you, from the wild rugged coastline, to the serene lochs nestled under the beautiful mountains.
Over the past few years, my partener and i have walked, climbed and fished round a vast area of the highlands, taking photos as we went, and one thing we learnt very quickly was never to underestimate the scottish weather, it can turn very quickly from a beautiful sunny day, to a howling gale with torrential rain and back again.
At present the highlands are rich in colours, from the yellow blossom of the whin bushes to the bluebells and the apple and cherry blossom trees are laden with blooms, the hills are changing from the browns of the winter months to the greens of the ferns and grass and the purples of the heather.
I hope you enjoy sharing my journey through this beautiful country of ours.

Loch Awe

Taken onthe first day of our holidays in 2009, we were driving towards Lochinver and decided to stop beside Loch Awe for a cuppa. It had just stoped raining and everything looked so fresh and with the light on Canisp in the background, a photo was called for.

Natural Arch

Posted by PicasaThis is one of my  favourite places, it is the natural arch in Culkein Bay,Sutherland, north west highlands, we go here on holidays every year and never tire of the scenery, it is second to none. we often fish from the rocks, and have caught Pollock and Mackeral in the past, We often see the sealsplaying in the sea from here, and there are lots of sea birds to be seen, like Cormorants, and gannets diving into the sea for fish, and Great skuas are all common sights, and the whole area is so paceful. This photo was taken by Gordie Broon, you can see more of his wonderful images at the following link.
